BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu Visits the Philippines, Reaffirming the Country’s Growing Role in BYD and DENZA’s Global Electrification Push

Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Co., Ltd., recently visited the Philippines, marking a significant milestone in the continued partnership between ACMobility and BYD Philippines as both organizations reaffirm their shared commitment to accelerating the country’s transition toward electrified mobility.

The visit celebrated the progress achieved since the partnership began in 2023.

During his visit, Chairman Wang toured key facilities, including several BYD dealerships, showrooms of premium brand DENZA in Alabang and Cebu,  and ACMobility Charging Hubs, gaining firsthand insight into the rapid growth of the Philippine electric vehicle (EV) market and the expanding ecosystem that supports Filipino customers. He also took time to engage with frontline teams and hear customer feedback directly, underscoring the value he places on the Philippine market and the people driving its growth.

The visit also highlighted the strengthened presence of BYD and DENZA in the Philippines, reflecting the market’s strong momentum in electrification and its increasing contribution to the company’s international growth.

“The Philippines has become one of the most exciting and promising markets for New Energy Vehicles in the region,” said Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Co., Ltd. “We are encouraged by the strong momentum of electrification and by the commitment of our partners at ACMobility to our customers. At BYD, everything begins with our customers — understanding their needs, investing continuously in research and development, and creating technology that genuinely improves people’s lives. Together, we are building a smarter, electrified mobility ecosystem that will benefit more Filipinos in the years ahead.”

“The cost of mobility has long been a pain point for Filipino households, and our view is that new energy vehicles address it directly,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, Chief Executive Officer of ACMobility. “That conviction is what brought us to BYD in 2023, and it is why we have deployed resources across the entire ownership journey, whether that be distribution and retail, charging solutions, or after-sales support. Chairman Wang has now seen that work on the ground. We intend to keep expanding it so that electrified mobility becomes a practical option for more Filipino families in the years ahead.”

Chairman Wang also met with BYD and DENZA dealer principals and business partners, recognizing their role in expanding the brand’s footprint and bringing electric mobility closer to more Filipino communities. Today, BYD’s network spans 81 dealerships while DENZA has 4 dealerships nationwide, enabling more Filipinos to experience electrified mobility through a seamless ownership journey.

“The Chairman’s visit is a strong vote of confidence not only in ACMobility but also in the tremendous potential of the Philippine market,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “It reflects the progress we have achieved together over the past three years and reinforces our commitment to making world-class electrified vehicles more accessible to Filipinos. As demand continues to grow, we remain focused on expanding our line up to deliver innovative products for every Filipino driver and providing exceptional ownership experience.”

“At BYD and DENZA, we believe smarter and more sustainable mobility is something we can achieve together,” said Adam Hu, Country Head of BYD & DENZA Philippines, “With the collaborative efforts of our partners, we’re growing our network for both brands, improving the customer experience, and investing in the EV ecosystem to make electrified mobility more accessible and help more Filipinos shift toward a more sustainable way of driving.”
