BYD Cars Philippines Launches First Sealion 5 DM-i Taxi Fleet in Cordillera with Highland Transport Service Cooperative

BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, is strengthening its commitment to transformative and sustainable transportation with the deployment of 20 BYD Sealion 5 DM-i units to Highland Transport Service Cooperative (HTSC) in Northern Luzon.

Together with its dealer partner, SEAelectric, this initiative marks the launch of the country’s first Sealion 5 DM-i taxi fleet and a significant milestone in the modernization of mobility in the La Trinidad and Cordillera region.

The BYD Sealion 5 DM-i delivers electric-first performance and efficiency powered by BYD’s Super DM-i technology, offering extended driving range and optimized fuel consumption for daily transport operations across the varied terrain of La Trinidad and Cordillera region.

The new fleet is expected to reduce operating costs for drivers while delivering a quieter, more comfortable, and more sustainable commuting experience for passengers. For HTSC, the deployment supports its ongoing re-fleeting program aimed at modernizing transport services and improving long-term operational efficiency.

At BYD Cars Philippines, we are focused on advancing clean energy solutions and supporting the transition toward more responsible and greener transportation. The deployment of the first BYD Sealion 5 DM-i taxi fleet in the La Trinidad and Cordillera region highlights how it delivers an innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solution that performs well beyond city roads, supporting operators navigating the varied terrain of Benguet and surrounding areas,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines.
