Real Man Series for Real Adventure in the Real Outdoors

The opening day focused on Suzuki’s expansion into adventure and outdoor riding with the launch of the Real Man Series – the DR160 and the V-STROM 160 – two exciting models that instantly captured the hearts of adventure loving Pinoys. These models deliver the spirit and capability of Suzuki’s big bikes in a more accessible form. Inspired by their larger counterparts, the DR160 and V-STROM 160 bring big bike DNA to everyday riders—making real adventure more within reach than ever.

It is equipped with a 162cc engine delivering 10.5 kW at 8,000 rpm and 14.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a responsive dual-channel ABS and front and rear disc brakes for confident handling. Enhancing the riding experience are its LED lighting system and vibrant full-color LCD panel, a USB port, along with Suzuki’s fuel-injected efficiency and a 3-year warranty for peace of mind. Built for the long haul, it can travel up to 650 km on a full tank with 50 Km/L fuel-efficiency rating (based on WMTC), making it a reliable companion for extended journeys. DR160: Real Man. Real Outdoors.

Rooted in the heritage of Suzuki’s dual-sport lineup, the DR-Z Series, the DR160 is built for riders who demand versatility across both on and off-road terrain. With its rugged and muscular design, high ground clearance, and comfortable riding position, it delivers confidence and control on varying surfaces. Powering the ride is a 162cc engine producing 11 kW at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, complemented by single-channel ABS (front) for enhanced braking stability. Modern dual LED headlights and tail lights ensure better visibility, while Suzuki’s fuel-injected technology supports efficiency recording 48.8 Km/L (using WMTC method) and reliability—backed by a 3-year warranty. The DR160 is available in Solid White and Solid Pure Black at an SRP of ₱129,000.

Hosted by Rovilson Fernandez, seasoned television host and motorsports, the Suzuki’s launch also highlighted current mobility challenges such as rising fuel costs, reinforcing the demand for efficient transportation. Makina founder Zach Lucero also emphasized the growing role of motorcycles in both commuting and lifestyle.

In his keynote message, Suzuki Philippines President Koichiro Hirao highlighted the shift in rider preferences toward motorcycles that support both daily use and outdoor exploration reaffirming the DR-160 and V-STROM 160 to explorers and thrill-seekers.

Following the launch, Suzuki executives shared brief insights on the models and the brand’s direction. Availability of the Real Man Series is also confirmed for rollout in dealerships mid-April.

Rough and Ready to Curb and Culture
