WOULD YOU BUY A DRINK THAT COSTS P8,000?

The bar at the Langham Place hotel in New York City is serving a $176 cocktail. Before you open your mouth to protest, read this: the drink, known as the Quattroporte, comes with a luxury ride. If you order the drink, a Maserati Quattroporte—which travels up to 176 miles per hour—will take you anywhere that you want to go in Manhattan. To arrange the Quattroporte experience, you have to order it 24 hours in advance, and it will only be available in November.

SEMA UPDATE

For the second year in a row, the Ford Mustang has been voted the “Hottest Car” at SEMA. It once again edged out its Chevrolet Camaro arch rival, which was deemed the winner in 2011 and 2010. The annual award, dubbed the SEMA A…ward, recognizes the most accessory-friendly vehicle based on the volume of aftermarket parts exhibited for it. The winning vehicle is judged according to the number of customized versions on display, and the volume of parts and accessories fitted to the cars.

DIG OR DISS: 2014 Mazda Club Sport 6 Concept

Featuring a menacing Mazda Design-exclusive Composite Grey finish and a Brilliant Black rooftop, this beast also comes with motorsport-inspired badging in neutral gray, black and red. The special Club Sport graphics featured on this concept car have a varying line frequency and width, giving them a sense of movement.

This is the first Mazda6 production model shown to the North American market with a SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter, clean-diesel engine. This engine will be offered on the production version Mazda6 starting the spring of 2014, and it will pump out 172 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque.

COLOR IT RED

Technically, the FT-86 Open Concept that’s on display at the Tokyo Motor Show is nothing new. There’s only one big difference between this car and the one that debuted at the Geneva show earlier this year: it’s red. No confirmation yet if Toyota will mass produce one in this hue.
