Ford Philippines Reinforces Customer Safety With Free Inspection, Repair of Defective Takata Airbags

In line with its commitment to the safety of its customers, Ford Philippines is re-issuing a service program urging owners whose vehicles are affected by defective Takata airbags to visit a Ford dealership as soon as possible.  

“The safety of our customers is absolute priority,” shares M Pushparaj, Director, Ford Customer Service Division, Philippines. “That’s why we remain proactive in reminding affected owners to book an appointment with their Ford dealer immediately to ensure a safe and worry-free experience on the road.”

Affected models and production periods include:

·       Ford Ranger 2011 (Driver Airbag)
·       Ford Everest 2006 to 2014 (Driver and Passenger Airbag)
·       Ford Ranger 2004 to 2011 (Driver and Passenger Airbag)
·       Ford Everest 2006 to 2014 (Driver/Passenger and Side Airbag)

·       Ford Mustang 2010 to 2014 (Passenger Airbag)

·       Ford Mustang 2010 to 2014 (Driver Airbag Inflator or Driver Airbag Module)

What Owners Should Do: Ford Philippines is providing two ways to make the repair process as seamless as possible:

1. Check your VIN: Owners of the abovementioned vehicles can visit www.ford.com.ph/support/takata-airbag-recalls/ and enter their 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to check if their vehicle is affected.

2. Schedule an Appointment: Owners can then schedule an appointment with their preferred Ford dealer through Online Service Booking or by contacting the dealer’s Service Department during their respective business hours. The inspection and repair can also be performed by Ford’s Mobile Service Vehicle (MSV) available in select Ford dealerships.

If found defective, the airbag inflator will be replaced by Ford dealers for free. The expected completion time of the repair is between 2 to 3 hours.

Ford Philippines has successfully replaced Takata inflators in the last few years, with this re-issued campaign aimed at encouraging more owners to take immediate action to ensure their and their family’s safety.
