New Honda Mobilio offers style for family travel

In the Philippines, family comes first and sometimes when choosing a car you sacrifice style for practicality. But you are on the look-out for something that will come along that has both.

The New Honda Mobilio is a Multi-purpose Utility Vehicle (MUV) that you could use to commute to office in the weekday and road trip with the family on the weekend. It is both sporty and comfortable and could fit a family of seven for those weekend getaways.

The new bolder exterior with its redesigned front fascia characterized by a new front grille and headlights with LED Guide Type Position Lights that highlights Honda’s unique identity. No longer would a having a Utility Vehicle be uncool with the Mobilio’s looks and aggressive stance, especially with its new Chrome Front Grille complimented by newly-designed 15-inch Aluminum Alloy Wheels (for the 1.5V variant).

If you get the 1.5 V CVT variant, you and your kids will be entertained with a 7-inch Touchscreen Audio System with Navigation that includes Bluetooth Hands-free Telephone and Audio Streaming, USB Connectivity, and for the 1.5 RS Navi variant, an Integrated Rear View Camera with Guidelines. Just remember about the current Distractive Driving law when using the audio system.

The New Mobilio 1.5 RS Navi Variant is also now integrated with a Smart Entry with Push Start System and a RS design Instrument Cluster with orange illumination for that sporty feel.

It may look small but it is spacious. The New Mobilio’s cabin is designed to comfortably accommodate a family of seven. Not bad for a small Utility Vehicle. The second row seats could Fold, Slide, Recline and features a One Touch Fold-to-Tumble function so that you and your loved ones could easily access the rear seats with enough legroom and knee clearance for a comfortable ride. The third row seats has 50:50 split folding seats that also recline and has a Fold-to-Tumble function for a trip to the shops or just a bit of hauling.

Power comes from a 1.5-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine that produces 120PS (or HP for the connoisseurs) at 6,600rpm, and 145Nm of torque at 4,600rpm. You could have either a 5-speed Manual Transmission (for the E variant) or a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) developed by Earth Dreams Technology that delivers a dynamic and fuel efficient driving performance. And for the kids in all of us, surprise! The 1.5 RS Navi variant comes with Paddle Shifters! Did you hear me? Paddle Shifters! Now there’s sporty for you.

Speaking of Sporty, the 1.5 RS Navi not only has a sporty exterior but a sporty interior as well. It has black fabric seats with orange stitching and dark metal finish in the door panel arm rest and in front of the AC vent panel.

But since this is Honda, it doesn’t stop there.

The New Mobilio is equipped with safety features that would keep your nearest and dearest, including yourself, safe. Features like Dual Front SRS Airbags, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), G-CON (G-force Control) Body, a Child Seat Anchor (ISOFIX) and a Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock. For added safety, the 1.5 RS Navi is also equipped with Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), for those sharp corners and Hill Start Assist (HSA) unique in an MUV. Nothing is more annoying than a hill start. Every driver knows that.

It comes in Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic (1.5 RS Navi and 1.5 V CVT variants only), Phoenix Orange Pearl and White Orchid Pearl(1.5 RS Navi only), though you would shell out and additional Php 20,000 for the White Orchid Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Luna Silver Metallic and Taffeta White. (1.5 V CVT and 1.5 E MT variants only.)

Whatever the color you get, you and your family will ride in style and comfort.
